Taking the Initiative
At any given time, there may be a lot going on at the Synagogue, but there is always room for new and interesting projects that deepen the experience of Jewish life.
If you're looking for a project to lead, we'd love you to consider the following:
We would love to have a group step forward and develop a community garden on the playground just south of the building. We have four raised beds in various states of use by the Preschool. There's space in the area for a dozen more just like the ones we have. If you'd like to lead the effort to create a real commuity garden, please let us know by calling Greg Raskin at 583-7121.
There are many returning veterans in Tulsa who have come out of combat with brain injury and other trauma. We think that there is a role to play by members of the congregation in servicing such soldiers and their families. Please contact Rabbi Fitzerman at 583-7121 if you'd like to organize a project involving member volunteers.
We are looking to recruit skilled challah bakers to run an ongoing project on Thursday nights at the Synagogue. Interested members would gather at 7:00 p.m. to bake challah for themselves and others each week. The evening would represent an opportunity to socialize, learn, and serve the community with gifts of challah to those who cannot bake or purchase for themselves
