Worship
A congregation needs to serve each of its constituencies in every area of Jewish experience. Out of that commitment, B'nai Emunah has created two principle weekly services to satisfy the needs of a diverse congregation. The Friday Evening Service (see our bulletin for times) is a short animated service that is easily accessible to newcomers. We have just incorporated instrumental music into the service, and the result is a lively mix of congregational singing and instrumental support. Much of the service is conducted in English, and liturgical experimentation is the rule.
Our Saturday morning service is a worship experience in a more traditional mode. The patterns of Jewish litrugy are honored in a way appropriate to an American congregation at the beginning of the twenty-first century. The service is accessible, with singable melodies, sermons, and interactive learning with Rabbi Fitzerman.
All worship services at B'nai Emunah are egalitarian. Women and men are equally empowered to lead all services, and all adult members are counted in the minyan (prayer quorum).
